Access your process from any internet browser
Opto 22 is the world's first I/O system with a built-in Web server.
PCbrew® utilizes Opto 22's I/O system and with it's new SNAP-B3000-ENET brain, you can connect to your process using Ethernet with TCP/IP. This means you can change, monitor and control your process remotely from anywhere in the world using nothing more than an internet connection and a standard Web browser. Just imagine the freedom that this new technology provides.
Super Trend
Detailed Process Monitoring
With Super Trend, 16 different points can be monitored and recorded on one chart. In one glance all the critical values for a process can seen and compared. A scroll bar allows you to back track and see what happened in your process in the past. Instead of searching for records and reports to see old data, you can scroll back a few minutes, hours, days or even weeks in your process history all while your system is still running.
Communicate with Allan Bradley and MOD BUS
Opening the Door
The ability to communicate with Allan Bradley systems opens the door for companies to take advantage of our PC based technology. Instead of having to throw out and replace an entire control system at once, companies can now gradually replace their inefficient and maintenance intensive PLC systems with our superior PC based technology. New additions and expansions can take advantage of PCbrew® and still be tied into a total process control scheme.
Communicates with any OPC compliant software!
What is OPC?
OPC utilizes Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) for Process Control (OPC). It is a new standard developed to ensure communication between all field devices, servers and software applications that use the data. Traditionally drivers were created by the software designers and as such, they did not exploit the full potential of the hardware they were communicating with. OPC was created to help move driver creation over to the hardware manufacturers who best know all the features of their products and the best method to communicate with them. Instead of having several drivers for every different software package, a single driver can be created to run on OPC compliant applications.
What does OPC do for me?
OPC allows you to integrate PCbrew® into your system and replace, over time, your existing control system. Replacing your entire control system in one fell swoop may not be financially practical and thus having a means of gradually integrating a superior, cost saving, control technology is ideal.
For example, say you are running a brewery using a PLC system with Intellution or Wonderware as your control interface. Now say you want to expand your operation and add more equipment. With the new OPC standard you are able to install PCbrew® to control your new equipment and have it communicate and share data with your existing control system. In this way you are able to enjoy all of the benefits of PCbrew® and affordably replace your aging control system over time.
The new standard
The OPC Foundation is a non-profit corporation whose board of directors includes executives from Honeywell, Siemens AG, Toshiba, Rockwell Software, Intellution, Opto 22, and Fisher-Rosemount Systems. As you can see OPC is the new standard of communication protocol in the control industry.
Never be obsolete!
Never be obsolete
PCbrew® uses Opto 22 as it's control hardware. Opto 22 prides itself in customer commitment. They still carry and support hardware that was manufactured 30 years ago. Compare this to PLC systems where you could find yourself obsolete in a few short years. PLC's are notorious for changing their hardware and discontinuing older models. Opto 22 has even just come out with a new system that allows for backwards compatibility with their old I/O hardware. This enables the individual to get all of the advantages of the latest in PC control functions without having to start from scratch. Now that is customer commitment and is what you get when you buy a PCbrew® system.
Supreme quality
Opto 22 is so confident in the quality of their products that they now offer a lifetime warranty on their Snap I/O's. Seeing the advantage that this brings to our clients, PCbrew® uses this superior Snap technology.
